Hi, Sharon here again (if you haven't noticed, my "day" is Saturday!) Now, you might have noticed that I do love a good digitally created collage - a brilliant way of combing a heap of photos in one neat cohesive manner (that doesn't involve much frustration in cutting up 4x6 photos and much mismeasurement on my part!)
This time I have used a CZ template (from her The Monthly set) with it tipped on its side. I drew inspiration from a layout that I had seen somewhere (I would include it here but can't remember where I saw it) that had a circle behind the title, and it stuck in my mind as something I would like to try. And when I typed the journaling up in one block it didn't look right, so I chopped it up and just like that, it looked right. A lot of my pages come together like that! (and to save paper, the circle is cut from the background bit of kraft!)
Initially I didn't really like this page (that happens a lot to me as well) but as I added the punched butterflies (from my sister in law's borrowed punch) it started to grow on me...a bit more work involved than my normal pages but it made a nice change.
Thanks for dropping by, I do hope you are enjoying our new blog as much as we are. Stay tuned, Emma should be popping in tomorrow AND Monday?!! a new challenge, from yours truly.
Cheers
Sharon
it's lovely - I like the block of photos and the space around the writing strips is a great balance. Nice photos - looks like it was a lot of fun. :)
ReplyDeleteSharon, I love how you flipped the collage part ... that is something I struggle to 'see' when I am making a page, I usually use templates just as they are and really, I need to break out a bit more! Colours are just spot on too!
ReplyDeleteooh! I love the circle element with the title and butterflies...I will be CASEing that for sure :)
ReplyDeletei loooove this sharon...letter stickers & punch please???
ReplyDeleteGreat!! Love this page.
ReplyDeleteLove this...great way to do a collage and LOVE that butterfly punch!
ReplyDeletegreat idea to use The Monthly for a photo collage block on a page
ReplyDeleteReally love the page... Do you know who makes the punch?? I love it!! Heather
ReplyDeletehi girls,I borrowed the butterfly punch from my SIL, however I think it came from the Fox Collection (an arts and craft mail order place in Australia - it could be a "name brand" punch however can't remember seeing a brand on it). The thickers are AC "delight" thickers which are actually fabric glued onto chipboard, and are great to use. The 'gone" part of the title was cute with my silhouette usine amelie font.
ReplyDeletethanks everyone for your lovely comments. xo
Very cool Sharon. Like the strip journaling especially mixed with the collage of pics.
