Welcome

Welcome to our new blog, Simple Aussie Girls.

This blog came about as a result of several of us discussing how much we missed the old Simple Scrapbooks gallery and how hard it was to find a place where just simple pages featured. We all had our "ah ha" moment reading Cathy Zielskie's 'Clean and Simple' and we vehemently agreed we were so very very happy that our scrapping hero embraced the digi template!!

And we decided that we much rather the term 'memory keeping' to scrapbooking.

Our aim here is to share our simple pages and hope we can inspire others. We want to promote our belief that it is really all about the 'words and pictures'. That your printer and some cardstock are your best friends. And that the odd brad or flower or thicker or a strip of pattern paper are all you need to record a memory. We will share with you how easy it is to use digital templates to get your story told.

We will post layouts whenever we have some to share - which is hopefully often!  We are also planning some simple challenges and hope you will join us. And maybe even some give-aways.  Our first challenge will be June 20th.

So thanks for visiting us, scroll down, and we hope you are inspired. If you have any ideas or suggestions please let us know.

  1. Wow, this is so cool. Well done on a magnificent concept.

I can't wait to hang out here often. This kind of 'memory keeping' [love that term!] is just exactly what I am drawn to, but it's true, so hard to find examples and inspiration.

    Looking forward to seeing more.

  12. Fantastic start & what a great idea! I have missed Simple as well, and find I'm feeling "forced" into more embellishment that I really love. I think I need your beautiful layouts to get me back on track!

  13. Great idea, I loved seeing your ideas when you worked with Nicole.
Simple is what I like and really appreciated the time I had in a class Nicole taught when I first decided to go the simple, clean way. Have loved your digital pages and your blog and have asked questions which pointed me in the right direction. Now I can visit both together. With the rain in the shire today, I am now torn between sewing or scrapping. Will definately be a follower.

  18. Well done girls!
I can't wait to see everything you have to offer.
Even though I don't scrapbook, I certainly do memory-keep and already know how much I will treasure these photos and stories in years to come, as will my children and grandchildren hopefully.
I'm looking forward to being inspired.

(Question about the flickr group: is it for your team members only, or can we fans add our own LOs to that group?)
