Shoes ...

On my blog last Friday, I posted a self-portrait. I'm not a fan of self-portraits but I see their value. Anyway, it reminded me that I am not afraid of making a layout about the most trivial of subjects.

Perhaps you could remind me today that I am not completely bonkers .... do you scrap the trivial?

  1. Well, the beauty of the 365 project I'm doing is that it forces you to scrap the trivial - and it is all these trivial things that make our lives rich. That's what I reckon, anyhow! ;)
Love the shoes by the way!

  3. Beautiful reds, and shoes your children can look at in years to come and remember you by-I know it may seem trivial now but I don't think so in the big scheme of things. I would love to look back a photo of my Nan's feet, that carried her to work, the shops and to the toy store when I was little! Love it!

  4. I think scrapping and journaling the trivial is important, it shows glimpses into what our real lives are about.

  6. Absolutely perfect, page and subject. I too can't resist a pair of red shoes, or a red bag!

  7. Trivial is the stuff that life is made of - all the little details that combine to create the total picture. One of my all time fave layouts (and my second ever simple page!) was all about the light load of washing.

  8. Amy those shoes were not quite so trivial really - they meant a lot to you when you got them. Scrapbooking is about recording the details of our lives - and there are no rules to say which details are "important enough" and which are "too trivial" to be included.
It's your hobby - you choose!
Besides, those shoes are so fabulous, it would have been a crime to miss the scrapping opportunity they gave you! (and we all got to share in the Shoe Joy for ourselves...)

  9. Not as much as I would like to... because honestly it is these little things that the people who love you most will remember most when you are old and senile. And having it preserved helps with the memories.

  10. Yes, I do - and not so long ago I scrapped about my orange ones. I also love red shoes - four pairs at the last count. As I pointed out to DH, they're different shades and different types for different sets of clothes (formal, trousers etc.) so I NEED them ALL.!
