Yellow - day 5

Seriously, I have a big problem when it comes to making a decision. I photograph most of my layouts so I have a big folder of them all on my photo program (iphoto). I was scrolling through the hundreds of layouts looking for something yellow, and found that I have indeed MANY yellow layouts, and that several of them were some of my favourite layouts.  Then came the decision dilema - Which to share with you?  Well I had about six that I couldn't decide between, and I've narrowed it down to two. So that I don't waste more time on procrastinating, I'm just going to throw those two layouts on this post. They are very yellow, and I really did like them both when I did them.
Today is the last of our YELLOW series - we will begin with a new colour next Monday.  Love colour!

The layouts are 4 years old, but each hold a special place in my heart!

The first is of youngest daughter, and this layout brings back so many memories of her last year at home with me, before she started school (she is now in Year 2). How we both miss that year!! Just yesterday, she said, "Can I stay home with you today, and we can be together like we used to be? We can go out to lunch, just you and me".
We have both had colds this week, so I did let her stay home one day, and we both went out for a coffee/babycino, and remembered the good old days.   Loved 2009.

This second layout shows my middle girls first soccer game ever.  It too holds great memories, because she loved that first game and this is 'where it all began'. According to Amelia "Soccer is my life" and she now, 4 years later, does development representative training on Mondays, does her team training on Thursdays, represents her school with all the boys on Fridays, and plays for her local team, plus usually in an extra game for another local team, on Saturdays.  I did the laundry yesterday and was thinking to myself how we went from little pink dresses to a line full of soccer socks and jerseys.  She looks so little here - she is now a tall athletic almost 10 year old! Okay all this reminiscing is making me want to scrap! It really is great to look back on.

Look at the stars...

I have 2 pages to share that have the colour yellow in them.

Here we have taken the yellow in the school uniform and used just a few yellow accents on the page.(Yes we! Yes I had my friend helping with this page too...love it when she finishes her pages and needs to play with photos!)

In this page I just let the yellow from Livvy's shirt stand alone. It is very bright so I thought that was enough and went with a super simple background.

Now last week I asked what song the line "I see red, I see red, I see red" came from. Come on...please tell me someone knows. I will give you another week ladies.

This week  am going to give you the answer for the line that is my title.

yellow - day three

I find that I don't use yellow a lot either, not that I don't like it. Its such a cheery, gorgeous colour, but it is one that is pretty strong and I find that its best used in small doses. Just like in clothing, its a brave or vibrant person that can wear it full strength. But team it with some other deeper, more muted colours (navy and yellow? so crisp and perfect) and it all becomes terribly delicious.

instagram love As you can see I am a lazy cow and again reverted to the tried and true CZ templates to save my bacon. Not a lot of yellow, but just enough to make an impact.  The page is a few of my favourite instagram shots - late to the game I know, but I don't own an i-phone but recently upgraded to a cheap android version, to which instagram has just been introduced. Its got me, hook line and sinker. I love it.  You can see my instagram page link on my blog.

So tell me, do you like yellow? do you scrap with it, wear it? decorate your house with it? (I had a secret, rather impractical ambition to have a yellow handbag. It would not get a lot of use, but geewhiz, I've seen a few of them around. Yellow is IN people!)

Yellow...or lack of!

Hi everyone,

I'm back after a bit of a holiday with my family. And I've come back to a week of Yellow...hmmm I have to admit its a colour I rarely use on layouts. Its not that I don't like yellow, its a very happy colour. Its more that I find it hard to use on layouts.

Which means I have no layouts to show you! I flicked through my albums and couldn't find anything with yellow! Then I sat down to create something and realised I didn't even have anything yellow to use! However, I did find a little set I made last mothers day. Its a matchbook album, card and little paper bag. So I thought I'd show you this as its better than nothing!

This is the set...its pretty bright and I'm not sure I'd use this colour combo on a scrapbook layout, but its definitely fun and makes me happy looking at it! The matchbook album is in the middle. Below are a couple of inside shots of the album. My mum loved this and still carries it in her handbag to show off her grandkids to her friends! Its very easy to make!

So I apologise for not having a yellow layout to show you, but hope you have enjoyed looking at these instead! Hopefully I'll have something better for next week's colour!
